Business Development Manager (Northern Ireland)
We usually respond within two weeks
Hello potential future Oatly employee. It’s us, the original oat drink company that started in Sweden back 30 or so years ago.
We exist to make it easy for people to eat better and live healthier lives without recklessly taxing the planet’s resources in the process. Sustainability, health, and transparency are the core values that guide everything we do. We're also recognised as the world’s first Climate Solutions food and beverage company, and we do it all while making some of the most delicious drinks out there.
If any of this is resonating with you, then maybe you’d like to come work with us? If so, you're in the right place.
The Role
As we expand our portfolio across Ireland, we're looking for a Business Development Manager to join a unique team to help us win on the ground. This is a territory-based role focused on growing Oatly's presence in Northern Ireland, primarily focused on Convenience and Out of Home (HORECA) channels. Here's what the day-to-day looks like...
Grow Oatly's distribution and visibility across convenience retail, cafés, bakeries, restaurants, hotels and other foodservice customers.
Identify and convert new business opportunities across your territory.
Build strong relationships with existing customers to drive sales growth and brand advocacy.
Secure new listings, improve visibility and availability, and maximise Oatly's presence in-store and on menu.
Maintain accurate CRM records and territory plans.
Become an expert in coffee, plant-based drinks and emerging consumer trends.
Run run occasional activation events with customers.
Who You Are
Here's some things we think would make an ideal person for this job...
You have a startup mindset – you like that every day brings something new, and no task is beneath anybody! One day you’ll be meeting the owner/decision maker of a large hospitality business, the next you’ll be stocking out a convenience store with free promotional stock.
You're a natural relationship builder. You love starting conversations with a stranger and it gives you energy to meet new people on the regular.
You love the hustle, can identify where the wins are, and have the commercial instinct to focus your energy where it delivers the biggest impact.
You love being out and about, visiting customers, and have proven experience of taking ownership and accountability for your deliverables
You see yourself as a self-starter who is comfortable working with a virtual team at Oatly – and the real-life team of your customers!
You're resilient, and have proven experience of not letting a “no” get in the way. You understand that a no today can always be a yes later down the line!
You’re genuinely excited about our product, the food and drink industry, and to represent and grow our brand.
Bonus points if you have existing connections in the Northern Irish convenience and/or coffee shop sector!
You'll also need full driving license for this role as you'll be out and about on the regular, talking to customers, and spending time in their spaces.
The Perks
Another bulleted list felt redundant, so we made this page talking about all the benefits we offer to sweeten the deal working with us before you apply.
Phew! Well done if you’ve got this far. We’re glad we’ve still got your attention because we’ve got one last super important point to make. As you can probably tell, we’re a norm-breaking company. For us, diversity and differences are an obvious asset. We know that amazing candidates can sometimes be put off applying for a job unless they can tick every box, and that makes us really sad. So please trust your gut and pop in your application if it’s feeling right. Good luck!
A Note On AI...
We don't mind if you use AI to help you prepare to interview with us. You could use it to spell check, do some research, or even practice for an interview – it's up to you. But please don't copy and paste answers directly from AI chatbots, or give examples that don't reflect your experience. Read more here.
