Process Operator (2nd shift/3pm - 11pm/Sunday - Thursday)
Hello potential future Oatly employee. It’s us, the original oat drink company that started in Sweden about 30 years ago. Since then, we’ve grown into a global pioneering dairy-alternative brand, and we’re on a mission to make it easy for people to eat better and live healthier lives—without recklessly taxing the planet’s resources in the process. If that resonates with you, maybe you’d like to work for Oatly too.
In order to continue to meet the demand for our amazing oat products, we are looking for a new Process Operator for our factory in Millville. Our production team is close-knit, enthusiastic, and hands-on. Together with our shifts, we produce thousands of liters of oatbase every day. Being one of Oatly's hybrid factories in the US, we play a key role for Oatly worldwide.
The Role
As a Process Operator, you will be responsible for the production of our oatbase, our basic oat product. You will control the automated production process and monitor quality and quantity. You will work partly from your comfortable chair in the control room and partly hands-on on the floor with our brand-new process equipment, so it's a nice all-round job.
What you will be doing during your shift:
Ensuring timely delivery of production in a safe and high-quality manner.
Taking samples, conducting inspections, and checking technical installations.
Perform basic laboratory testing pH, viscosity, total solids and titration.
Solving first-line (technical) problems.
Drawing up and recording reports in our documentation system.
Carrying out cleaning and maintenance work.
Operating and monitoring our process equipment.
Contributing to our Food Safety Culture and Health, Environment, and Safety environment.
Participating in working groups to achieve process improvements.
Who You Are
You have at least 2 years of experience as a Process Operator in the food manufacturing industry and have the enthusiams and curiosity to take our factory to the next level together with the rest of the team.
In addition, we hope you bring the following:
A postsecondary non-degree certificate or associate degree in related field like Food Processing or Manufacturing Technology.
A great sense of responsibility and the flexibility to adapt quickly to an ever-changing situation.
The ability to come up with constructive solutions.
Developed ability to think analytically and easily make connections.
Excellent English language skills.
Good HACCP Knowledge.
Ability to climb several flights of stairs and ladders.
Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force at times and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Your Application
Another bulleted list felt a bit too…bullet-y. So we wrote this long, awkward sentence to let you know all the ways we sweeten the deal when you work with us, like 20 paid vacation days plus sick time, really great benefits (yes, pet insurance is in there), free six packs of...(drumroll)…oatmilk, and you’ll also get genuinely great coworkers who are rooting for each other and the company to thrive. Oh, one more short but very important sentence: We are nimble and agile (not chaotic) in how we work, and we’re grounded in a long company history dating way back to the last century.
The salary for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, specialty, and training. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. Our good faith estimate for base hourly rate is $21.00 -$23.00.
Our team is available to support you through the hiring process with reasonable accommodations to enable a barrier-free interview experience. We will maintain candidate privacy and confidentiality to enable an unbiased and equitable experience.
