(Junior) Business Controller Benelux

The Role
We're looking for a (Junior) Business Controller for the Benelux. In this role you will work closely with our Head of Finance. As we grow, we need someone who's excited about supporting with a variety of finance related-tasks to make sure we are in control of our business and we can grow even more. This role is based in Amsterdam and gives you the perfect chance to flex your finance muscles across a broad range of skills, while growing, learning, and having a little fun along the way.
Here's what the day to day looks like...
- Manage daily credit control activities within the customer-to-cash (C2C) process and build strong relationships to continuously improve ways of working.
- Clear incoming payments on customer accounts and monitor overdue balances.
- Handle customer claims and deductions in close collaboration with the Sales team.
- Support the Sales team with trade spend allocation and related queries.
- Prepare monthly cash forecasts, factoring in expected & overdue payments and deductions.
- Collaborate with local teams on spend phasing, forecasting, and budget variance analysis.
- Prepare monthly accruals, including customer distribution and branding costs.
- Act as the link between the local team and the global finance/accounting organisation on administrative matters and work with the IT team to resolve or escalate EDI issues.
- Support audit and SOX control activities.
Who You Are
To be successful in this role you have 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in the fast-paced world of FMCG. You hold an HBO or university degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or something closely related and you know your stuff. You’re basically an Excel wizard (yes, formulas are your love language), and you bring a sharp eye for detail along with a solid grasp of accounting principles. You spot the small things that make a big impact, and you’re not afraid to take initiative.
