Regulatory Affairs Manager, North America (Bilingual)

We are seeking a Regulatory Affairs Market Manager to support our markets in the US, Canada, and South America. This role is key to ensuring compliance and regulatory alignment for our business operations in these regions. Primary responsibilities include reviewing product compositions, labeling, and commercial materials to meet market-specific regulations.
This role will also monitor and communicate regulatory changes within these geographical areas, keeping the organization informed and prepared, while addressing inquiries from customers or authorities, serving as a trusted resource for regulatory matters.
This position reports to the Global Director of Regulatory Affairs and Sustainability Compliance.
Qualified candidates residing in Philadelphia, PA preferred due to business needs. If not in the Philadelphia area, must be willing to travel to PA monthly.
Here are the things we want to hire you to do:
- Responsible for creating and maintaining a regulatory network in the assigned markets and be on the top of the latest food regulatory developments
- Secure that new legislative developments – affecting both Oatly products and production facilities – are captured and cascade in the organization
- Support Product Innovation with new product development and lifecycle projects, securing product compliance with applicable regulatory requirements
- Ensure recipe and labeling/stickering compliance in the assigned markets
- Carry out all operational regulatory tasks related to placing Oatly products on the markets, including authority registration/notification if applicable
- Be the contact point for local authorities and certification bodies (e.g. US FDA and Canadian Food Inspection Agency) in the event of inspections and requests of information
- Support the local organization during authorities and other regulated certification audits
- Validate communication materials such as point of sale, on-line advertising and side panels/artwork
- Represent Oatly in external meetings/conferences when regulatory expertise is needed
- Secure regulatory compliance insights within innovation projects
- You will be responsible for day-to-day support to our business for the US, Canada and South America markets, customers first point of contact for quality and regulatory matters, and answering customers’ or authorities’ inquiries
- Responsible for customer Q&RA requirements and bringing them to relevant stakeholders
Here are the things we think you need:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Quality, Food Safety, or a law degree with a specialization in food legislation
- 5+ years of experience in a food regulatory and compliance role
- Must be able to read, write, and speak in both English and Spanish; Portuguese a plus
- General knowledge of food and packaging regulation in the US, Canada, and South America
- Knowledge of FDA/FSMA legislation and ability to investigate and navigate complex topics
- Experience in performing horizon scanning and share the knowledge in the organization
- Proven track record in performing recipe checks and artwork validations
- Ability to engage with national authorities and customers
- Strong presentation and analytical skills required
- Approximately 25% travel if you live in the Philadelphia area. 75% travel if you live outside the area as it's required to be onsite a few days each month.

The salary for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. Compensation may also include bonus, commission, or equity as applicable.
