The Role

Our growth is fast - and accelerating. More and more people choose to switch to a plant-based diet for the sake of their health and the planet. That’s why we are looking for a Site Manager with the goal to develop and manage the Vlissingen site to drive extensive and sustainable growth.

As Site Manager you maintain control of Operations at our site in Vlissingen. With a steep growth in production, new team members and the extension with two new lines, your challenge is to run and set the standards for a safe and smooth running production organization.

 

What will you do?

In this role you will be responsible for all operations at Vlissingen site, realizing bottom line results. With a team of 28 people and growing, you are the central owner of production, maintenance, safety, health, quality and environment. You will lead the overall site development, bringing it from a scale-up phase to a steady producing organization. Furthermore, you will:

  • Build strategical plans for Vlissingen site, setting goals, following up and securing that operations reaches its goals.
  • Implement improvements for building structure, facilitating growth and improving efficiency.
  • Build strong relationships, connecting different departments and ensuring great collaborations.
  • Continuously strive for and implement sustainable improvements within all operations, delivery and cost.
  • Lead the Vlissingen management team, consisting of HR, Technical, Production and QESH.
  • Secure a strong and lively Oatly culture.

 

Who are you?

To be successful in this role you will have an interest in the different disciplines of operations and a proven track record of delivering results in the Food Industry, either as a Site Manager or as part of a site management team. You value people and business development and are recognized for building high performing and collaborative teams.

Furthermore, we hope to see that you check the following boxes:

  • MSc or bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
  • 5+ years of management experience within the food industry or industry within supply chain and production.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Site Manager or related management role, like Technical Manager of QESH Manager.
  • Background in Food Safety, Health, Environment and Quality.
  • Experience with continuous improvement tools and techniques like Lean, Six Sigma and 5S is a big advantage.
  • Able to set structure and processes in a fast growing, dynamic environment and knowing how to navigate in the unknown.
  • Communicative, curious, conscious leader, with good judgement and both people and business close at heart.
  • Collaborative and transparent, valuing and contributing to the exchange of experience and progress between sites.
