THE ROLE

Our growth is fast - and accelerating. More and more people choose to switch to a plant-based diet for the sake of their health and the planet. That’s why we are looking for a Production Manager on a temporary basis with the goal to lead and develop our awesome production department, continuously securing our product is produced on time, to specification and within budget.

As our temporary Production Manager, you are part of the management team and will lead the production department. You will be responsible both on a daily operational and strategical level and will be driving the development of our process operators, a stable high-volume production and our overall continuous improvement methodology.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

In this role you will lead a team of 25 of the finest process operators. You ensure people performance, machine performance, plan conformance and adherence, budgeted targets and continuous improvement opportunities are both coordinated and met and that the Oatly products are produced on time, to specification and within budget.

What's more, you will:

- Translate strategy into concrete actions and involve the team and team captains in the corresponding targets. 

- Identify points for improvement and focus on the continuous improvement of production performance. 

- Be visible to your team, create team spirit and coach employees in their development.

- Ensure that all activities within the production department comply with legislation, policy and standards.

- Monitor and analyse the production and draw up improvement plans. You will also actively involve your managerial colleagues from the OPEX, Maintenance and QESH departments.

- Draw up the production planning, tuned to planned maintenance, project work and stop periods and make work schedules fit.

- Lead 5 team captains and delegating tasks within the production department.

- Continuously work on increasing efficiency and reducing costs.


WHO YOU ARE

You will have significant experience of working within a company that has a continuous improvement-based culture, with solid and a demonstrable understanding of manufacturing processes and food safety principles. 

Moreover, you will bring the following to be successfull in this role: 

- A Bachelor or Master degree in a related field.

- 5+ years of production management experience in a food manufacturing environment.

- Experience of working within a large team and the ability to coach people to be at their best and to find their own solutions whilst creating a safe and inclusive environment is essential to this role.

- Experience with continuous improvement methodology, prefereably TPM.

- The ability to facilitate collaboration that supports alignment, creativity, and results along with demonstrating strong leadership.

- Excellent social skills and ability to build valuable relationships.

- Highly developed leadership and management skills, including the social skills and ability to build valuable relationships.

- Developed ability to think systematically and analytically and to make connections easily.

- Excellent Dutch and English language skills.
