OATLY IN THE UK

Oatly are building their first UK factory in Peterborough and it’s expected to be finished in 2023, how Oatsome is that!

And we wouldn’t be Oatly if we didn’t mention sustainability and that it’s at the heart of the planning process. We’re working to ensure the new factory brings value to the people and the planet without recklessly taxing the planet’s resources. We aim to use 100% renewable energy, and decrease its energy consumption, water consumption and waste by 75% each at the factory, by 2029 compared to Oatly’s environmental footprint in 2019.

The new UK factory will continue Oatly’s drive to create a systemic shift in society and the food system towards a plant-based future. That’s better for people and better for the planet too.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Your mission as the Facilities and Procurement Manager will be to directly manage the site security, reception and internal cleaning teams and also the external providers who are delivering the services for catering, specialised cleaning and external and internal gardening. You’ll also need to work collaboratively with the Leadership and Management Team to support the procurement and management of all suppliers in line with the  SLA’s agreed. This will include the full range of contacts such as Occupational Health, Payroll Provision, Employment Law, Learning and Development, Pest Control, Fire Extinguishers, Effluent, Steam, Maintenance etc.

You will need to ensure that best practice is followed, and that the most suitable working environment is maintained for all employees and their activities. That includes advising on, influencing, and delivering, commercially driven procurement interventions that ensure Oatly are making commercially sound decisions including preparing documents for tender processes.

You will be accountable for setting up a brand new facility and then for all on-going activities on a 24-hour, 7 day a week basis covering all areas of the site.

Reporting to our Director of Plant Operations you will directly manage a team and work collaboratively with the Site Leadership and Operational teams, to develop, enhance and deliver processes in line with the site strategy.

You will have an opportunity to recruit and develop a new team and you’ll also to be part of a new Leadership Team yourself.

You need to be energised by uncertainty and by building things from the ground up.

WHO YOU ARE

You will be an experienced commercially minded individual, holding professional membership accreditation and as importantly, have experience gained in managing contracts and tenders within a medium/large organisation. You will be experienced of working within a company having a continuous improvement-based culture, and a proven track record of delivering procurement related activities in order to maximise return on investment.

Experience of working within a leadership team and the ability to coach people to be at their best and to find their own solutions whilst creating a safe and inclusive environment is essential to this role. You also need to be able to facilitate collaboration that supports alignment, creativity, and results. You need to be self-aware and growth-oriented and to understand your own strengths and limitations.

Finally, to be the perfect fit for Oatly, we believe that you have a thirst for knowledge and that you are eager to learn more! You are an improvement driven person with a hands-on approach, even during rapid change.
