Oatly was founded back in the 1990s and is based on Swedish research from Lund University. The company’s patented enzyme technology copies nature’s own process and turns fiberrich oats into nutritional liquid food that is perfectly designed for humans. Today, the Swedish company remains independent and dedicated to upgrading the lives of individuals and the general wellbeing of the planet through a lineup of original oat products.

Oatly is a company built on the idea of change. Our mission is to help people upgrade their everyday lives and the health of the planet by making tasteful oat-based food products accessible to a wider audience in a world-class manner. It's why we come to work every day. And because health and sustainability are so close to our heart, we are more than just another food company – we are a lifestyle company. Our growth is fast - and accelerating. More and more people choose to switch to a plant-based diet for the sake of their health and the planet. With headquarters in Malmö and production in Sweden, Holland, Singapore and the US, our products are available in almost 30 countries across Europe, North America and Asia.

Don´t miss this opportunity to join Oatly’s Technology Development team as a Laboratory Engineer. This is a highly competent group, that now has an opening for you. We believe you are in the start of your career, aiming to learn and gain experience, so that you in a couple of years can accelerate into a more advanced position at Oatly! If you have the drive, curiosity, focus and a warm personality, here is your chance.

As a Laboratory Engineer in the Technology Development team, you will participate in the development of the technology behind our tasty and nutritional products. You will support the rest of the group in the laboratory with your analytical competencies but will also run your own development projects where you plan, execute and report on experiments related to scientific questions regarding Oatly processes or products, current or future. You will also have the chance to prepare and analyse samples using different analytical methods, such as colorimetric assays or chromatography. Troubleshooting to improve and develop analytical protocols will also be part of your duties.

To thrive and be happy in this role, we believe that you have the following experience:

  • M.Sc. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or similar
  • Fluent in English

We will be even happier if you bring hands-on experience from working independently in a chemical laboratory or similar, preferably with analytical chemistry and HPLC systems. Knowledge in analytical chemistry in general will be a plus. It is also positive if you know some Swedish, at least on a social level.

We imagine that you are a curious mind, with an analytical and structured approach. And that you enjoy working in a highly collaborative team but also independently when necessary, and that you have a love to be on the continuous learning curve, being improvement driven in general. We also see that you have a holistic view on things combined with an attention to details.

We welcome people from all backgrounds who see sustainability and health as important values.

If you have the curiosity, passion and collaborative spirit, work with us, and let’s do this together! It will be fun! Please apply at latest on 2021-08-15.
