The Oatly Department of Mind Control (ODMC) is looking for an experienced Media Strategist to join the EMEA team based in Malmö, Sweden.  As a Media Strategist in the ODMC, you are responsible for planning the brand’s media strategy and implementation in several geographical markets. Today, we have two coworkers in this role sharing markets between them but collaborating on an overall EMEA level. This is a TEMPORARY POSITION covering one of these roles from April to December 2021.

 Working in close partnership with project managers and creative directors, the Media Strategist’s responsibility is to ensure that each country and its media budget get the attention needed to achieve world-class results.

We believe world class results come from rooting everything in the creative idea.  This means that the framework for media strategy and execution needs to bring the creative ideas to life in the best, most contextual ways possible. 

We will be looking for the following:

BE A CHAMPION FOR THE CREATIVE USE OF MEDIA

· Translate Oatly’s creative approach into media by considering the creative context of media placements first, balancing with scale and impact second.

· Continuously challenge the current strategy and status quo, in close collaboration with creative directors and project teams.

· Challenge industry norms and best practice to seek out the most creative formats, platforms and publishers to inspire and help creative teams make world class Oatly campaigns.

· Self motivated to bring an innovative approach to media execution across digital partners/platforms.

· Take nothing at face value and push partners to elevate and innovate programs creating first-to-market experiences.

· Connect platforms and publishers to drive impact and create efficient utilisation of creative assets.

·  Manage, maintain and build the media agency relationship to drive creative use of media.

BRING A COLLABORATIVE & FLEXIBLE APPROACH TO STRATEGIC MEDIA PLANNING

· Responsible for the end to end creation of the strategic media plan. From campaign strategy, planning of market activities, adaption to creative concepts, campaign implementation and results.

· Build and maintain relationships with all commercial stakeholders, team members, specialists and any other context where people meet Oatly.

· Continually review and revise strategies to keep us on track towards future goals and in the years to come.

· Ability to make responsible and well-argued decisions balancing commercial aspects against the consistent inconsistency, guts, and gentle madness that is Oatly’s personality.

· Build and maintain collaborative and productive relationships with Oatly’s partner media agency across EMEA markets.

· Communicate with all other ODMC functions, as well as other departments to bring integrated thinking into campaign planning.

BE A BRILLIANT WORLD CLASS MEDIA STRATEGIST

· Experienced media professional with a comms strategy, media planning background gained in a communication agency or brand side role.

· Strong skills in strategic brand communication, analysis, and decision making. 

· Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to turn ’traditional media recommendations’ into exciting campaign ecosystems that engage and connect with people.

·  Passionate about people and what makes them tick.

·  Consider culture and how it changes people’s behaviour and relationships with media platforms and publishers.

· Provide market insight, trends and innovation opportunities.

· Feed and fuel the creative team with regular inspiration and insight.

· An analytical, yet creative thinker. Ability to tell stories from data.

· Manage and support the digital specialist to ensure campaign implementation is on strategy, on time, and on budget.

· Ability to understand digital analytics and reporting and share findings in a relevant and interesting manner.

· Ensure compliance and maintenance of all finance and booking systems.

· Attention to detail is imperative. ODMC demands excellence in execution every time.

IF YOU HAVE SOME OF THE ABOVE AND MOST OF THE BELOW, WE'D LOVE TO GET TO KNOW YOU

 · Proven experience and evidence of excellence in media strategy and planning, gained in a communication/media agency or client-side role.

· Excellent working knowledge of all media channels, from TV to OOH, Google Ads and collaborations.

· Experience and knowledge of the Scandinavian media landscape, as well as some knowledge of the following markets: Israel, Australia, New Zealand, Poland, and DACH.

· Excellent command of English language both verbal and written, Swedish language skills are a plus.

· Strong self-starter with the ability to work independently in very flexible environment.

· Committed to sustainability, able to prioritize what is important in the long term to make more humans choose plant-based.
